Breech block lock (action slide lock) Winchester model 62

This is the breech block lock (aka locking plate) Winchester model 62 that utilizes the one pin bolt (meaning that if you look down on the top of your breech bolt all you will see if your extractor pin on the right-hand side). If Your breech bolt will not stay locked this little part most likely the culprit. You will see this bolt design in the model 62's from serial number 24,002 up to 98,000. In 1935 Winchester changed its locking system, and the firing pin was no used to keep the bolt locked. Several years after the introduction of the one pin bolt Winchester changed back to the original locking design. NOTE: The tip of this part it and give it in the Forearm of your actions slide but more importantly the pin that holds this part into the breach bolt should have thin flat head on it. If you are pin is just a straight pin with no head, it will not keep the breach block lock in place.
