This is the ladder sight carbine Winchester rifles. It will fit in the 3/8 inch dovetail milled into the barrel. Winchester 1873 carbines came standard with these after serial number 90,000 from the factory. Winchester 1892 used these ladder sights until late production when they switched to the sporting rear sight (flat top or semi buckhorn) The Winchester 1894 carbines came from the factory with this ladder sight up to serial number 1,000,000 when they moved the position of the dovetail on the barrel.Early 1892's and 1894 were equipped with the 1873 engraved ladder sight from thefactory. Keep in mind that any sight could be ordered on your rifle from the factory! NOTE: these will also fit the Rossi 92 carbines and the Uberti carbines. As long as your gun uses a 3/8 inch dovetail this sight will work.
