Magazine friction spring ORIGINAL for 1890 and 1906 Winchester pump .22 rifles. This part fits model 90 - 06, and some 61 and 62 rifles. If you have a new replacement outer magazine tube that has two slits in the tube instead of a rectangular cut out, then you will not need this spring, as these later outer magazine tubes are designed not to use friction springs. See pic below for where this part is placed in the outer magazine tube. A small piece of scotch tape helps to keep the friction spring in place when inserting the outer magazine tube through the front hanger, and MAKE SURE that your front hanger has a lower groove to accept the friction spring.
