Magazine Hanger (magazine ring) Front Winchester 1890 or 1906 - 62 - 62A - 61 NEW

Front Magazine Hanger (magazine ring) for 1890,1906, 62, 62A  and model 61 Winchester pump .22 rifles. This hanger does not have a slot for the magazine friction spring. On the earlier models 1890 and 1906 a rectangular spring sat on top of the outer magazine tube where it went through the hanger to put tensin on the inner mag tube. If you have an original outer tube that uses the magazine friction spring then you want the hanger that has a slot milled in the base, part number wp725-b. You do not necessarily need the slotted hanger to use the magazine friction spring but it makes it a lot easier to install! (later in production Winchester stopped using the separate spring and just put 2 slits in the outer mag tube for tension on the inner tube) There is no pinhole in the base like your rear hanger uses. These are new parts made to factory specs. Remember DO NOT pound these straight out like you would a sight or you will stretch the metal on the barrel. they twist in and out of their circular dovetail. If this has been done and your dovetail is stretched out then you will need the oversized hanger part number wp725-a
