This is the hammer spring, also called the mainspring for the Winchester rifle. It fits the Winchester model 1866, 1876 and the 1886 Rifles that have a straight grip (non-pistol grip- meaning both the upper and lower tangs behind the trigger and hammer run parallel with eachother into the stock). These are very high-quality springs made to specifications of the original reproductions!
