Remington No. 6 (Type I) barrel with bluing having turned to a soft brown patina. A serial number of 484905 indicates production in the 1940s at the very Forearm of No. 6 model production. Strong rifling still in this very clean and shiny 22 caliber bore with only a few markings in the lands. A small area of pitting on the outside of the barrel. Chamber region on this falling block rifle barrel is still clean and edges crisp. It is difficult to find an original Remington No. 6 barrel in this condition.
