Buttplate Winchester model 62 62A 1894

This is a Winchester replacement buttplate model 62 - 62A. It is Black with the Winchester logo in the middle of the buttplate. It is a reproduction of an original buttplate made from high quality urethane. Your buttplate comes with fitting instructions, as some minor fitting MAY be required, but not always. Dimensions are as follows; Overall Length is 4 5/8 inches; Width at widest point is just under 1 1/2 inches. From top of plate to middle of top screw hole is 13/16 and from bottom of plate to middle of bottom screw hole is 1 inch. The center to center measurement of the screw holes (from center of holes) is 2 3/4 inches. (Note: I have come across MANY 62's that have had the part number 803 butt plate installed from the factory). It normally fits Winchester 1910, 67,67a and 72. Measure from the top of your stock to the middle of the top screw hole. The 62 - 62a butt plates' measurement is 13/16 inches and the Number 803 butt plate is 9/16. Other than the top screw hole, the butt plates are identical! On the assembly line at the factories there were bins filled with parts. It is not uncommon worker to grab the wrong part that looked similar to what they needed. This buttplate as well as the 803 buttplate can be used to replace the flat checkered metal buttplate on the 1894 carbine/rifles--compare measurements. To attach the plate to your stock, use buttplate screws wp57.
