This is the hard to find elevator used rear sporting rifle sight on early production lever action rifles. Predominantly Winchester 1873 1866 1886. The earliest of elevators (starting in 1866) did not have a number designation or patent markings. The width is 0.10 and the highest adjustment pint is at .25 inches.
