This is an ORIGINAL No 23D Winchester front sight that that has a high blade height of ..330 inches. This is the early number 23 sight with a medium .075" base and has a patent date of Nov 4 1902 stamped on the base. These were sights placed on the Winchester high velocity 1886 rifles and also on the lever-action 1892 calibers .25/20, .32/20, .38/40 annd .44/40 caliber barrels. It was also placed on the 1894 rifles in .32/40 and .38/55 barrels.
