This is an ORIGINAL No 23E Winchester front sight that that has a low blade height of .225 inches. This is a number 23 sight with a thick .09" base and has a patent date of Nov 4 1902 stamped on the base. These were sights placed on the Winchester 1876 -.50/95 Express and all high velocity 1886 rifles old barrel style .38, .40 and .45 caliber guns. It was also placed on mail order pump 1890 rifles.
