This is the FRONT barrel band screw Winchester 1873. This screw is designed to fix stripped threads in the barrel band (which happForearms quite often and the barrel bands 1873 are unique to that model and hard to find) The new threads on the screw are larger 8-40 (which you will want to tap the band to) see gunsmithing tools for tap.
