This is the Carrier lever SPRING for Winchester models 1890, 1906, 62 and 62A Winchester (and Rossi) .22 pump rifle. This spring sits on top of the carrier lever arm raises the carrier so that it aligns with the chamber when the pump-arm is pulled forward to load the bullet. If you are having problems with shells sliding under the carrier try replacing this spring. It is held in place by the carrier spring screw part number wp61A. This is a very commonly replaced part.
