The Winchester Model 250 is a lever-action 22 rifle. The gun is tubler fed, having a capacity of 15 long-rifle , or 17 long, or 21 SHORT .22 bullets. The length of this 5 lbb gun is 39" with either a birch or walnut (deluxe) stock. The reciver is cast aluminum with black covering, with barrel rifing a right-hand 1 in 16 twist. Early production models of this rifle had a plastic front sight/magazine tube mount, and the rear sight was also plastic. Winchester kept down production costs by having one barrel type used on either the 250, 255, 270 or 290.
