Mainspring tension screw Winchester 1886

This is the screw that adjusts the tension on the hammer spring (mainspring) It is located in the middle of the lower tang. If your mainspring is tired from 100 years of use you can tighten this screw and it puts tension on the underside of the mainspring giving it a little more kick.
