This is an ORIGINAL Winchester metal buttplate with top spur for Model 1897 or Model 71 and also will fit the 1894 - 1892 - 1886 stocks. It has the trademark spur on top. It is an original buttplate made from high quality metal, without checkering. This buttplate comes with fitting instructions, as some minor fitting MAY be required, Dimensions are as follows; Overall Length is 5 1/8 inches; Width at widest point is 1 11/16 inches. From top of plate to center of top screw hole is 1/4 inch and from bottom of plate to center of bottom screw hole is 1 5/16 inches. The Center to center of screw holes is 3 3/8 inches (allow slight variance in measurements, because the holes in the buttplates are much larger than the holes in your stock (they are counter sunk screw heads). To attach the plate to your stock, use buttplate screws wp57.
