This is an ORIGINAL trigger spring, also called the sear spring for the Winchester 1873 and early 1894 rifles. This spring sits under the safety bar (trigger block) spring in the lower tang. It puts tension on the trigger. It fits all 1873 (other than set trigger models) and in 1894 Winchester guns this spring was used up to ~400,000 serial number.
